Spiced Oatmeal with Warm Cinnamon Apples

Warm oatmeal with cinnamon apples is deliciously cozy and super healthy. I'ts an easy, vegan and gluten-free breakfast packed with fall flavour!

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 + 1/4 tsp cinnamon divided
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp brown sugar divided
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 0.5 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 medium apple
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter optional


  • In a small saucepan, whisk together oats, chia seeds, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and 1/2 tsp brown sugar. Pour in the milk and bring to a low boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer until oats have soaked up most of the milk. When finished, keep covered and warm on low heat. 
  • Dice the apple and heat your coconut oil on a small frying pan. Once the oil is heated, add the apples to sauté. They should be sizzling on the pan. Sprinkle apples with 1/4 tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp brown sugar and continue to sauté until they are soft and easily pierced with a fork. 
  • Place oats in a bowl and top with your warm apples and 1 tbsp peanut butter (optional). Enjoy!
