TikTok Ricotta Toast 3 Ways
Ricotta Toast is trending on TikTok! Some even say it’s the new avocado toast. To test that out, I’m sharing 3 different ways to enjoy it that are easy and delicious.

What is Ricotta Toast Anyways?
Have you heard? Some people are saying that ricotta toast is the new avocado toast. At least, that’s what people on TikTok are saying.
I don’t mean to brag, but I’ve been enjoying ricotta toast for years! I love how customizable it is and that you can make it either sweet, savoury, or a little bit of both.
Not only is ricotta cheese on toast delicious, it’s also pretty nutritious! The bread of course offers us carbohydrates (with bonus fibre if you choose whole grain bread), and the ricotta offers protein, calcium, and fat. After that, its a great canvas for a variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and herbs!
I’m so glad this toast is trending! So glad that I had to show you how to make it three different ways.
Ingredients for These 3 Ricotta Toast Recipes:
For the Blistered Tomato Toast:
- sourdough bread (or other crusty bread)
- ricotta cheese
- olive oil
- cherry tomatoes
- basil leaves
- salt, pepper, and chilli flakes
For the Peaches & Honey Toast:
- sourdough bread (or other crusty bread)
- ricotta cheese
- peaches
- honey
- hemp seeds
For the Lemon Blueberry Toast:
- sourdough bread (or other crusty bread)
- ricotta cheese
- blueberry chia jam or regular jam
- lemon zest
- pumpkin seeds
How to Make TikTok Ricotta Toast:
For the Blistered Tomato Toast:
The originally-trending recipe that I saw on TikTok was a toasted slice of crusty sourdough topped with ricotta, blistered tomatoes, olive oil, fresh basil, salt, pepper and some chilli flakes. Everything here is pretty straightforward, except maybe for the tomatoes.
You can easily blister the cherry tomatoes by sautéing them in a pan with olive oil until they are sizzling and start to blister. Then, you just transfer them to your toast spread with ricotta cheese and garnish with olive oil, sliced basil, chilli flakes and salt and pepper.
For the Peaches & Honey Toast:
These next two recipes are very straightforward and easy to make. For the peaches & honey toast, spread the ricotta on your toast then top with peach slices, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of hemp seeds.
For the Lemon Blueberry Toast:
Spread the ricotta on your toast then top it with blueberry jam (I used a blueberry chia jam that I had on hand), a little bit of fresh lemon zest, and a sprinkle of pumpkin seeds.
When to Enjoy Your Ricotta Toast:
What I love about these toast recipes is that you can really enjoy them at any time of day! Of course it makes a great breakfast, but it can also be a great quick and easy lunch or satisfying afternoon snack option too.
That being said, this toast is best enjoyed immediately and does not store well as the bread eventually will become soggy. For best results, enjoy it right away!

Ingredients
For the Blistered Tomato Ricotta Toast:
- 2 slices whole wheat sourdough bread
- 1/4 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil, divided
- 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes
- 2 large basil leaves, thinly sliced
- 1 pinch salt, pepper, and chili flakes
For the Peaches and Honey Ricotta Toast:
- 2 slices whole wheat sourdough bread
- 1/4 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 medium peach, sliced
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tbsp hemp seeds, (learn hemp seeds' nutrition benefits)
For the Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Toast:
- 2 slices whole wheat sourdough bread
- 1/4 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 tbsp blueberry chia jam, or regular jam
- 1/2 tsp lemon zest
- 2 tsp pumpkin seeds
Instructions
Blistered Tomato Ricotta Toast:
- Blister the cherry tomatoes by sautéing them in a pan over medium high heat with olive oil until they are sizzling and start to blister. Meanwhile, toast the bread and spread with ricotta. Then, transfer cooked tomatoes the toast and garnish with olive oil, sliced basil, chilli flakes and salt and pepper.
Peaches and Honey Ricotta Toast:
- Toast the bread to desired doneness. Spread ricotta on the toast then top each slice with peach slices, honey and hemp seeds.
Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Toast:
- Toast the bread to desired doneness. Spread ricotta on the toast then add blueberry jam, lemon zest and pumpkin seeds.
