Nutritious Chocolate-Coated Blueberry Greek Yogurt Clusters
A delicious dessert that’s good for you, too? That’s exactly what these Chocolate-Coated Blueberry Greek Yogurt Clusters are! This recipe is a Registered Dietitian’s take on the viral yogurt clusters, with high-protein Greek yogurt, antioxidant-rich blueberries, and walnuts for omega-3s, all coated in a yummy chocolate shell. A sweet-tooth satisfying dessert recipe that’s healthy and simple to make, too!

I’m a little late to the game on the yogurt clusters trend, but I’m here!
As a fan of Greek yogurt and using it in healthy dessert recipes, like this Chocolate Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt Bark and my Healthy Homemade Fudgesicles, I knew I had to make my own chocolate-covered Greek yogurt bites when I saw them circling on TikTok.
Of course, I wanted to put my own spin on them, so I used blueberries (I’ve seen a lot of people make them with strawberries) and added chopped walnuts for extra nutrition and crunch.
The result? A tasty yet nutritious dessert featuring a creamy Greek-yogurt filling with juicy blueberries and crunchy walnuts, plus a delicious chocolate shell.
Don’t forget the sprinkle of flaky sea salt for that sweet n’ salty vibe!
What Makes These Yogurt Clusters Healthy?
- The main ingredient is Greek yogurt. It’s high in protein so it helps fill you up and keep you full, and it’s rich in important micronutrients like calcium and phosphorus. There are differences between Greek yogurt vs regular yogurt, the main one being the protein content, which is why I use Greek yogurt here.
- Blueberries are super-nutritious! You may have heard that blueberries are a ‘superfood’, and the little berries definitely pack a nutritional punch. Blueberries are high in fibre, which does many things like support gut health and digestion, stabilize blood sugar levels, and keeps you full for longer. They’re also a good source of antioxidants, which protect against cell damage from free-radicals.
- Walnuts add healthy fats. In addition to texture and crunch, adding walnuts to these yogurt clusters also adds a healthy dose of polyunsaturated fats, including omega-3s! Omega-3 fatty acids have been associated with things like cardiovascular health, cognitive function, and eye health.
Ingredients for these Blueberry Yogurt Clusters:
For the Greek yogurt clusters, you’ll need:
- Plain greek yogurt, I used 2%
- Fresh blueberries
- Walnuts
- Maple syrup
- Vanilla extract
For the chocolate shell coating, you’ll need:
- Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Coconut oil – this helps achieve a smooth, drippy melted chocolate consistency for dipping
- Flaky sea salt (optional)
How to Make the Chocolate-Covered Greek Yogurt Bites:
Dip the chilled yogurt clusters in the melted chocolate to coat. Place back on the baking sheet and allow the chocolate to harden.
Ingredient Substitutions:
This recipe is really flexible – you can really use whatever fruit you like. Think blueberries, raspberries, chopped strawberries, chopped cherries, sliced banana, and more!
You can also substitute the walnuts for any kind of nuts that you prefer. E.g. chopped almonds, pecans, peanuts, etc.
This recipe is naturally gluten-free and vegetarian. To make it vegan/dairy-free, use a non-dairy Greek yogurt product and ensure that the chocolate chips are dairy-free.
Meal Prep and Storage:
Because this recipe makes 10 clusters, it’s great to prep for a sweet snack all week long!
I recommend storing them in the fridge for the best consistency. Store in an airtight container, and separate the layers of yogurt clusters with parchment paper as needed so they don’t stick together.
