Banana Peach Smoothie with Greek Yogurt (High Protein!)
Sweet and refreshing, this peach smoothie with frozen banana makes a quick, tasty, and healthy breakfast or snack. It’s high in protein thanks to greek yogurt and hemp hearts so you’ll feel fuller for longer after enjoying this smoothie.

A Filling & Delicious Smoothie:
If you’re like me and you look forward to buying a big crate of peaches in the summer, only to have them all ripen at once, so now you have a bunch of ripe peaches that you don’t know what to do with – this recipe is for you. This peach smoothie recipe is a delicious and nutritious way to use up those peaches – and it’ll fuel you all morning long!
Here’s the thing about smoothies: a lot of the time they’re made with fruit, juice, and yogurt. Sure, that’s tasty, but it won’t keep you full or energized longer than about 30 minutes. As a registered dietitian, I have a formula for building a nutritionally balanced (and filling!) smoothie, and most of my healthy smoothie recipes (including this one and my green power smoothie!) follow it to a tee.

What Makes it Well-Balanced:
- Protein: Protein is what keeps you fuller for longer, and this peach banana smoothie contains 23 grams of filling protein per serving! The star protein ingredient here is greek yogurt, which also helps to make the smoothie nice and creamy. I use a higher protein milk variety (like dairy milk) in my smoothies for an extra protein boost, along with a spoonful of hemp seeds which add 3 grams of protein per tablespoon!
- Healthy Fats: These also contribute to satiety. Luckily, the hemp seeds used to add complimentary protein also offer a dose of healthy fats, which include omega-3s.
- Fruit (& fibre!): Of course I always want my smoothies to provide a generous offering of fruits and/or vegetables. In this smoothie, we use frozen banana alongside fresh peaches. Leaving the skin on the peaches is a great way to include more fibre in our smoothie – and the skin just gets blended up anyways!
Just Dump & Blend:

Easy Swaps if You Need Them:
- If not in season, frozen peaches are always an easy and affordable swap. If using frozen, you may need a little extra liquid to blend!
- Soy milk is a great dairy-free option for liquid as it contains roughly the same amount of protein as dairy milk. If not concerned about protein content, any other non-dairy milk would also work.
- If you prefer to use vanilla greek yogurt instead of plain, you can do so and omit the vanilla extract and honey.
